Eligibility Criteria:

M.Sc. (Hons.) Agriculture Plant Pathology:

A master’s degree (equivalent to sixteen years of education) is required, with at least a second division in the relevant subject under the annual system or a minimum CGPA of 2.0 out of 4.00 under the semester system, as recognised by the Higher Education Commission of Pakistan. A valid GAT (General) result, conducted by either NTS or the IUB departmental test, must be obtained with at least 50% marks before admission.

Doctor of Philosophy in Plant Pathology:

MPhil/MS or equivalent/Eighteen years of education with a minimum CGPA of 3.0/4.00 or 60% in the case of an annual system recognised by the Higher Education Commission of Pakistan. A valid GAT (Subject) result, conducted by NTS, is required with at least 60% marks, which can be obtained either before or after admission.

PhD Admissions:

PhD admissions at IUB remain open throughout the year. Candidates seeking admission to any PhD program at IUB should visit the respective departments to obtain the consent letter from their supervisors. The relevant supervisor will issue the consent letter if he/she has the vacant slot to recruit a new scholar.

Deadline:

The last date to apply for admission is July 15, 2025.

General Instructions:

  • A HARD COPY of the ONLINE application form is not required. Original documents, along with 2 photocopy sets, will be required at the time of admission.
  • We will announce the schedule of interviews, merit lists, and the IUB departmental tests on www.iub.edu.pk.
  • Candidates are required to pay a prescribed admission processing fee for the MPhil and PhD programs. Moreover, the candidates desiring to appear in the IUB departmental test are required to pay the prescribed fee/dues for MPhil/PhD. You can deposit the fee at any authorised bank branch using a challan form that you can download from the online admissions portal.
  • The original receipt of the admission processing fee for MPhil and PhD programs will be provided by the applicant at the time of issuance of the fee challan. The IUB test fee challan will be furnished at the time of the written test; without it, candidates will not be allowed to appear for the written test.
  • We will not accept incomplete application forms. The candidates may visit www.iub.edu.pk or eportal.iub.edu.pk for online applications. The candidates who have already passed GAT (General)/(Subject) and have valid result card(s) issued by NTS need not register for the IUB test.
